Peter Sagan is already a legend in road cycling. From his long list of achievements to his magnetic personality on and off the cycle, Sagan has written himself into cycling lore. In a sport often cloaked in restraint, and even staid characters, Sagan is a beacon of outspoken and gregarious light. Plus, he can climb a steep grade while doing one-handed wheelies on his bike. As driven to put on a show as he is to win, Sagan is the people’s cyclist. He makes the sport more fun, even while he is winning.
The Slovak has won the UCI World Championship three years in a row (2015-2017), and even won the prestigious ‘Maillot Vert’ points jersey the first time he rode the Tour de France in 2012. He has won the jersey every year since, through 2016.
With 102 professional wins to his name, Peter has proved he can win at every type of race from the one-day ‘Classics’ to three-week long stage races and the first European Championship, and did we mention he rules at one-handed wheelies…uphill?
Welcome to the Team, Peter! Have fun this season; we know we will have fun watching.
